Dad Was is Barnaby’s second short, designed as a eulogy for his father while he was still alive.
The film was shot in 2019 and completed in 2020. Due to the COVID pandemic, the film festival circuit was mostly inoperative for the year. However, the film was screened at various festivals online and was subsequently shortlisted for Best British Short at the 2021 BAFTA awards.
Synopsis: On a cold Glasgow morning, Mattie must give the eulogy at his father's funeral.
